Auckland's arts community has thrown its support behind residents who are battling to stop Bunnings building a retail store in Arch Hill.
In November, independent planning commissioners led by Greg Hill gave the store, between Great North Rd, King St and Dean St, the green light, leaving residents stunnedafter they spent more than $50,000 fighting that consent application.
David Batten, of the Arch Hill Residents society, said a further $100,000 would be needed if the matter proceeded to a full Environment Court hearing which could also delay Bunnings.
As part of that fundraising effort art by some of New Zealand's most prominent artists including John Pule, Gretchen Albrecht, Sheyne Tuffery and Fatu Feu'u will be auctioned on the evening of Friday, March 21st at Hopetoun Alpha, Beresford Square.
