Interest in the redevelopment of Queens Wharf is rising as finishing touches are being added to The Cloud and Shed 10 - but the public is being urged to wait just a little longer.
Project manager for Kalmar Construction Michaela McGeorge says the wharf remains off limits for another three weeks. Queens Wharf will be opened to the public on Friday, September 9.
"We're getting people coming down and wanting to see it all, which is great, but we are still a closed construction site," she says.
Earlier this week Minister McCully announced that The Cloud will host part of the Pacific Leaders Forum in the days prior to the Rugby World Cup and last week, Auckland Mayor Len Brown announced the major Opening Night event for Friday, September 9.
"The fun starts on September 9 with Auckland's Opening Night celebration on the waterfront and The Finn Brothers are confirmed as the headline act on Queens Wharf that night followed by New Zealand's biggest ever fireworks and light show," Mr Brown says.
