It's all green thumbs and homemaking this weekend on the North Shore, with the annual Home and Garden Show.
More than 13,000 people are expected through the doors of the North Shore Events Centre over three days, from March 23-25. Floral art exhibits this year - the show's 17th - include an edible Japanese garden cleverly titled Now and Zen, and many other displays by top Auckland floral designers. They'll compete for the Auckland Designer of the Year Trophy for 2012, which will be announced at the show.
Show director Daniel Joll says the economic climate hasn't had too much of an impact on the event.
"Research shows us that homeowners are still choosing to renovate their homes and spruce up their gardens."
The show will feature free seminars, and the Dirt Doctor will speak on "growing the soil that grows your garden".
