A performance is being held in a Warkworth orchard this weekend to showcase the fruits of the labours of a creative workshop.
The Story Book in the picturesque grounds of Donnellan Orchards on Sunday is the result of work done by a group caled the Healing Through Arts Trust. The trust has been supported by the Lotteries Board, COGS, ASB and Creative Communities)
Particpants have been drawn from the IHC, Adults in Motion (AIM) and the Mahurangi College Special Needs Unit and brought together under the direction of Catherine Chappell from Touch Compass.
Additonal support for the programme has been lovingly provided by well known Kiwi actors, such as Lisa Chappell; Ash Jones (from the Auckland Theatre Company and Massive Theatre Company); Nikki Bennett (an entertainer who has trained at Philippe Gaulier in Paris); and Jesse Johnstone-Steele (a dancer at Touch Compass).
The performance will also feature children from Rodney and West Auckland: Bella Berman, Molly Fausett-O'Connor, Forest Axford, Briar Hollings, Bridget Hollings, Jack Hollings, Alice Wheeler, Jasmine Donaldson and Sigi Merrick.
Donations will be collected on the day to be forwarded to Christchurch.
