The Black Ferns have defeated Australia 38-3 in Rotorua.
The Black Ferns played their first test match in almost a year today, in front of a healthy crowd at Rotorua International Stadium.
It was the opening match of the international women's rugby series being hosted in the Bay of Plenty this month.
New Zealand, Australia, Canada and Samoa are competing in the series, which is a warm-up to the women's Rugby World Cup in France in August.
In the curtain raiser, Rotorua Boys' High School defeated Tauranga Boys' College in the final of the Chiefs Cup.
