Traditional power Otumoetai College grabbed three of the four titles on offer during the weekend's Bay of Plenty Secondary School Beach Volleyball championships at Mount Maunganui.
In a major upset sixth seeds Mathew Simister and Charlie Stewart defeated tournament top seeds Thomas Culley and Rob Cairns 16-14 in the senior boys' final.
New Zealand junior beach volleyball representatives Shannen Bagge and Simone Head - who were the top seeds in the senior girls division - were untroubled to defeat Carl Hona and Dianna Harrison 21-9, 21-14 in the final. The top seeds also won through to take the gold medals in the junior boys' and girls' championships.
Rachel Morgan and Hannah Crow had to battle for control in the junior girls' final before clinching the title 15-11, 15-11.
Tauranga Boys' College denied Otumoetai a clean sweep when Sam Wallace-Boyd and Tom Sannin took out the junior men's championship.
Sixty four teams from around the Bay of Plenty competed in the annual event.
