Bethany told the Rotorua Daily Post today their departure from the show did not come as a surprise.
"We are feeling very content with it, we've been in the bottom two the week before so it wasn't unexpected."
She said the group had plenty of plans for the future.
"We are going to just push our original music now we've got a little bit of exposure. We can push ourselves. It's really good to have a bit of a boost. We did not expect to get this far, we just kind of thought it would be good to get much exposure as we can hopefully.
"I was doing an internship with a church in Tauranga, Jared will go back up to Kaitaia and Laura-Lee will start her life as a wife, it's all very exciting at the moment."
Laura-Lee is due to get married this Saturday.
Bethany said the group had enjoyed the experience, despite losing their mentor Willy Moon after he and fellow judge and wife Natalia Kills were fired from the show.
"There's been so much support, we just feel so blessed by everyone. The thing we'll take away from the competition is the people.
"I guess because you are constantly having to have your energy levels up it's mentally tiring. You always have to have your enthusiasm levels up. It was a little bit stressful, we did go through a bit of an identity crisis in the middle there.
"Our mentors are the link between us and production, when the link was not there for a week that was a little bit stressful but we came through.
"When we had to do Top 40 week we struggled a lot because our sound isn't really Top 40 music, we are an acoustic trio. We branched out a bit because the judges were always telling us to branch out a bit and we lost a bit of our identity that week. Song choice is so important, you've only got two and a half minutes to rock it."
