The Rotorua Lakefront was flowing with many shades of blue when the Rotorua branch of Diabetes New Zealand marched along it to raise awareness of the disease.
Branch treasurer Hillary Hope said yesterday's march was part of World Health Day.
"World Health Day is focusing on diabetes this year so we have organised a march from the Lakefront to the museum. We are wearing blue because it's the international colour for diabetes.
"The idea is that every group in the world does something to raise awareness for it," she said.
Branch president Karen Reed, who is also the vice-president of Diabetes New Zealand, said those taking part wanted to make the Rotorua community more aware of the effects of diabetes and the group was there to support them.
