A Danish woman in her 60s has been rescued from the Tongariro Crossing after she fell and hurt her ankle.
The Taupo-based Greenlea Rescue Helicopter was called to the Tongariro Crossing this afternoon and flew the woman to Taupo Hospital.
It's the third time in three days the helicopter has been called to the popular walking track.
On Saturday a German woman and a Swedish woman, both in their early 20s, had to be flown to Taupo Hospital in separate incidents.
One was suffering breathing difficulties while the other was dehydrated and exhausted.
