"We will be having about 15 family members around our place for Christmas so we will be having a few extras this year and then we'll just see what to do from there."
Mrs Dryland's winning ticket was from her purchase at Bossy B, on Eruera St.
"I think it's important to support local businesses and the great range of products they provide for the city. We've lived in Rotorua since 1970 and have seen a lot of change to the retailers in the area. Anything we can do to support them, we try to do."
Bossy B owner Linda Bell said she and her staff were excited to hear one of their customers won the competition.
"We were so stoked for Helen, especially because my staff worked so hard to get every one of our customers into the draw."
Ms Bell said the competition was great advertising and a good way to encourage people to support local retailers.
"We really hope Helen comes into the store so we can congratulate her. It's just so awesome she won, it was almost like we won too."
The competition ran from November 10 to December 19. Customers had to spend $20 or more at a participating Rotorua business to be in the draw.
Participating stores included Van Dykes, Paper Plus, Rotorua Central, Super Furn, Bossy B, Tyre Works, LiquorLand, Palmers, Sleep City, Bin Inn, Cottage Flair, Cobb & Co, Skyline Rotorua, Webbs Shoes, Caci Rotorua, Gould Photographics, Steiners, Guthrie Bowron, Heards Manufacturing Jewellers, Central Pharmacy and Footloose.
