The Rotorua District Council has held a public meeting to discuss its draft Annual Plan, the beginning of what mayor Steve Chadwick describes as a new journey between the council and the community.
A dozen members of the public turned out to the meeting on Thursday night, with the mayor, deputy mayor Dave Donaldson, council chief executive Geoff Williams and councillor Charles Sturt attending. Council executive director Jean-Paul Gaston and finance manager Thomas Colle also attended to discuss proposals in the draft Annual Plan for the next financial year.
The draft plan identifies council programmes and projects for the coming year, including proposals to support the Rotorua 2030 vision.
Mrs Chadwick said the meeting was a chance for the public's voices to be heard and was about working with the Rotorua community to better the city.
"We need to know whether our proposals are supported by you, the public, the community. Your feedback is important to us," she said.
