One person has serious injuries and another moderate injuries after a crash between a car and ute just north of Taupo.
A police spokeswoman said two people were initially trapped in the crash which happened on Wairakei Drive, near Huka Falls Rd and The Avenue, about 4km north of Taupo.
One patient has been flown by rescue helicopter to Waikato Hospital.
Police received the call at 10.35am and ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.
