A car and a truck have crashed at Okere Falls, just outside of Rotorua.

A police spokeswoman said police were called at 10.29am about the crash on State Highway 33 near Taheke Rd.

The Rotorua-bound lane was blocked for a time and an ambulance was requested, she said.

A Rotorua Daily Post photographer at the scene said the road had been cleared by about 11.20am and a tow truck was picking up the car.

A police spokesman said nobody was injured or treated by the ambulance when it arrived.
