A "phenomenal response" to the New Zealand National Jaguar Rally has thrilled organisers of the event, who claim the Rotorua-hosted event has been one of the best yet.
About 150 cars from all over the country headed to Rotorua this weekend to take part in the rally, exploring the district and treating thousands to a closer look at the cars at the "show and shine" event at the Village Green.
Organising committee member John Endean said the rally had been "tremendously successful" and participants and residents were eager to get a closer look at the cars dating back throughout the eras.
Mr Endean said it was the first time the event had been held in Rotorua. It alternated between the North Island and South Island when it was held every few years.
"Everything was positive. The crowd we have had down there was phenomenal."
