Tomorrow morning will be the best time to get outside and make the most of the sunshine before the school holidays round up.
The break in bad weather will be a welcomed change for locals who have been kept inside with rain every day this month.
According to MetService, from Saturday October 1 to today, Rotorua has had nearly 40mm of rainfall recorded at the airport.
MetService communications meteorologist Lisa Murray said as it was early days in October it was hard to tell if there would more rain than normal, but usually this month saw about 105mm of rain.
She said the two days with the most rainfall have been October 2 and 6 with 12.4mm and 14mm falling respectively.
"Everyday so far this month there has been rain recorded in Rotorua."
