Five beautifully created art panels and a mural now have pride of place outside the refurbished Tikitapu (Blue Lake) toilets.
The artwork was blessed by Tuhourangi kaumatua Anaru Rangiheua last week.
Shane Walker of Waihi - the winner of the New Zealand mural contest last year - completed the outward-facing panels while the inward panels depicting birds were done by Tom Wallace of Wellington.
The council has upgraded a number of its toilets and have art themes on new toilets at Ohau Channel Delta and Troutpool Rd, and refurbished toilets at the Lakefront and Motutara Point.
The Puketawhero Park toilets will also have an art component.
