For years, the Ngongotaha Community Patrol has been working tirelessly with police to reduce crime in the area - now it's calling for volunteers to help continue its mission.
The Patrol, set up in 2004, is a voluntary group of people who give their time to help police prevent and reduce crime in the township and make Ngongotaha a safer community.
Patrol trainer Sharon Fleet said the group was looking for more people to get involved with what they did.
"Essentially, we act as the eyes and ears on behalf of the police," she said.
"We go out on regular patrols in our marked cars, during the day and night, where we keep a lookout to see if there's any situations we need to report to police, or if there's anything that looks like it might lead to something police ought to know about."
