The Queen's 90th birthday, which was officially yesterday, will be celebrated in Rotorua with a high tea on Sunday.
It has been organised by the city's self-proclaimed "right royal royalist" Barry Jenkins.
"I have always admired Her Majesty and despite her years she continues to do an amazing job," he said.
A life member of the Rotorua Musical Theatre, Mr Jenkins staged a similar event at the organisation's Casa Blanca Theatre to mark the diamond jubilee of the Queen's reign in 2012.
"This time around the venue's to be the Regent Hotel because of the obvious name association," he said.
