Rain only added to the energy as more than 12,000 fans packed into Taupo Amphitheatre to watch rockers 10cc, Starship and Lynyrd Skynyrd perform.
It's the first time in three years the concert has had to contend with wet weather but Taupo Summer Concert Ltd director Hayden Dickason said it didn't pose problems to organisers who had wet-weather contingency plans in place.
He said crowd feedback from the concert had been "outstanding". All three acts were popular and put on great performances, he said.
"We find most have a personal preference [of artist] but then come along and find one or two surprise them. A lot of the feedback has been all three were outstanding."
He said about 75 per cent of those attending came from out of the Taupo region.
