Tarawera High students show skill at athletics day

Tarawera High School's recent senior athletics day went off without a hitch with students eager to take part on what was a bright and sunny day.

Students from Years 9 to 13 gathered in hapu house colours to compete in athletic events as well as some fun activities.

Many points were earned for each hapu and students secured their positions ready to compete in the inter-school athletics last week.

The Year 10 boys stood out in regards to their participation, and Putauaki hapu discovered they were in ownership of solid athletes who won many events.

The day ended with the much-anticipated visit from the local fire department who hosed the students down after their day's massive effort.
