Otonga School is celebrating its students' success at the Rotorua Interschool Chinese Speech Competition, held at Waiariki Institute of Technology, with students from across the Bay of Plenty taking part.
Principal Linda Woon said the judges were of a high quality and the event had strong leadership provided by New Zealand Chinese Language Association Laytee George and support from the Chinese Ministry of Education, Hanban, with sponsorship from the Rotorua Chinese New Zealand Society.
Otonga School scooped first, second and third in the primary school competition, and third in the native speaker section.
