A student from John Paul College has been selected by the Royal Society Te Aparangi to attend an international science camp in Israel.
Eamon Walsh, a Year 13 student, will heard to the Dr Bessie F. Lawrence 49th International Summer Science Institute Camp in Israel, at the start of July.
The "Bessie program" is organised by the Weizmann Institute of Science in Jerusalem.
The camp will bring together around 80 senior secondary students from all over the world to experience the challenges and rewards of scientific research, and is geared towards students who are interested in pursuing a career in science research.
The main focus of the programme is student participation in the on-going laboratory work of the Weizmann Institute.
The opportunity is fully supported by the Raye Freedman organisation, including all international travel and registration costs.
During the three-week programme, the students spend the first couple of weeks conducting research.
