Severe gales may whip through Rotorua, MetService warns.
A weather watch has been issued for the Bay of Plenty area in particular Rotorua and Taupo with north-west gales may becoming severe from tomorrow morning until the evening.
A low is expected to deepen over the Tasman Sea tomorrow and track south-east across the North Island in the evening.
