Today teams from Rotorua and Tauranga will gather at Westbrook Park for the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union Invitational Sevens Tournament.
The tournament is ahead of the upcoming annual NZCT AIMS Games held in Tauranga from Sunday September 4 to Friday September 9.
With three divisions, year 5 and 6, separate year 7 and 8 girls and boys it will be an action packed day for all referee's and teams involved.
Hayley Kerrison Bay of Plenty Rugby Union Women's Development Officer said it would be a great day out of for the teams to see where they were at ahead of the upcoming NZCT AIMS Games.
"We are looking forward to seeing all the teams showcase their skills and having fun in the sun today. It will be an awesome day for all involved."
Today's games kicked off at Westbrook Park Rugby Fields Rotorua at 9.45am with the first set of finals scheduled to kick off at approximately 12.30pm.
