Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on SH29 on the lower Kaimai ranges. Photo / file

One person has been transported to Waikato Hospital with serious injuries following a crash on State Highway 29 in the Lower Kaimai Range this morning.

An investigation into the crash, which happened about 8am, remains ongoing.

The road is now open.

Earlier the road was closed as emergency services responded to the serious crash.

The crash involved two vehicles.

A police spokesperson said Initial indications suggest there were serious injuries.

The road had been closed between McLaren Falls Rd and Omanawa Rd.
