Rotorua's Ryan Christensen is in New York, he is keeping us posted with what he has been up to:

First arrived in LA after my flight from Auckland, made it through customs hitch free and walked onto American soil for the first time.

The temperature hit me in the face like having a bucket of heat emptied over my head, a bit different from my winter back home. Made it to my hostel and started to explore. Right in the heart of Hollywood I found the stars and all the famous spots on Hollywood Boulevard. Dolby Theatre, home of the oscars, four men dressed as spiderman, handprints in the pavement and all sorts of must see tourist spots.

As jet lag was nowhere to be seen I decided to venture out to clubs in downtown Hollywood. I went with a great group of people from all over the world from my hostel and even visited some clubs that I had seen on TV when my flatmates watched "The Hills".

Met a californian bloke who happened to inform me that the broadway musical "The Book of Mormon" had opened tonight in LA and he had a spare ticket for the following night and I was more than welcome to it. My start to the entertainment capital of the world was off to a roaring start.
