Rotorua rower Julia Edward believes four weeks is enough to develop a combination with Sophie McKenzie in the lightweight double.

McKenzie has replaced Edward's regular partner Lucy Strack, who has decided to opt out of the international rowing season.

The new double will start training together at the end of the month, just four weeks out from the world championships in Amsterdam.

"We've had quite a natural combination, especially at race pace, so I'm confident we can just get it going quite quickly," Edward said.
