Flowers, portraits and animals are just a few of the things you can find at the colourful exhibition of the Geyserland Art Group.

The group's exhibition is currently on at Palmers Garden Centre, running until October 23.

Group member Maxine Thompson says there is a lot of creativeness in the Rotorua community, and for artists to create works and then display them takes a fair bit of courage.

"Some people have had to be very brave to bring their works in. Others have had experience and have had successful careers as teachers or artists."

She says exhibitions like this are great because what artists do needs to be shown off.

"A lot of people who are not artists have their job to do as being appreciators of others' art, so the people in the community can be contributors in one way or another.

"There is something for everybody in an exhibition like this."

Geyserland Art Group secretary Robin Harland says it is great for members to be able to show off their work and the group has a lot of talent.

She says the works are all for sale, ranging from just $20 up to $750.

Elizabeth McDonald, who has gone along to look at the exhibition, thinks it is amazing and has a great variety of different styles.

She says it is also great that the works are all by local artists.

The Geyserland Art Group is a group of artists and budding artists who meet weekly on Thursday mornings at The Arts Village in Hinemaru St.
