Thirty-seven students from the school must each raise about $6000 for the 19-day trip in October.
Spanish teacher Lois Hanks said the school takes a group to Spain every three years and visits a range of cities including Barcelona and Galicia.
"We also live for almost a week with real Spanish families, putting into practice the many scenarios we have only acted out in class. It makes it all real and worthwhile" Hanks said.
"My students gain confidence in travelling and taste what it means to be a global citizen."
Hanks said adjusting to a 10pm dinner time was always a shock for the students but the trip was usually "life-changing".
