Thefts at Rotorua's Kerosene Creek are on the rise, prompting a warning from police.
In October 2015 Kerosene Creek was named one of the top 10 summer swimming holes in New Zealand by AA Directions magazine. However following another vehicle theft from the popular tourist spot, Rotorua police are warning visitors to take better care with their belongings.
Rotorua police area prevention manager Inspector Stuart Nightingale said thefts in the area had been increasing.
"It is a place of interest for locals and for tourists, and there are a group of criminals that are targeting that area," he said.
