Four of Rotorua's up-and-coming young professionals have been selected as "the cream of the crop" to represent Rotary and New Zealand on a six-week trip to Canada and the United States.
Rotary International has offered district-to-district exchanges for decades - with district 9930, which includes Rotorua and the wider central North Island, being offered an exchange with district 5050, Washington State and British Colombia. The five-person exchange team, mainly from Rotorua, will leave for North America in April.
The exchange was offered to young professionals aged 25-40 who wanted to learn more about their chosen vocation, something successful Rotorua applicant and Scion communications adviser Simone Walker was thrilled about.
"I am thrilled to be part of the team, not only to learn more about the PR and communications industry, but also to grow as a person and to have the opportunity to explore district 5050 and learn more about Rotary."
The keen public relations professional, and actress, is joined by fellow Rotorua team members Nadia Burborough, from Lakes District Health Board; Dan Phillips, from Opus International Consultants; and the team reserve, Hera Smith, from Te Arawa Lakes Trust.
