The Rotorua Bike Festival has been full of great vibes and is promising more action and excitement for its last two days, with the festival coming to a close tomorrow.
Rotorua Bike Festival director Megan Dimozantos said so far the festival had been awesome, with great feedback.
She said about 9000 people had come through the festival.
Dimozantos said Ride the Runway was quite a hit with about 1300 people going along.
"Also, about 1000 bikers competed in Whaka100 which I think was a record for them as well."
She said the public art interactions in Te Manawa had also been a hit.
"It's been really well received and we've seen a lot of people who we normally wouldn't have as part of the festival, which is cool and what we wanted to see."
She said there was still quite a mix of events on for this last weekend, for both people who wanted to get involved or just wanted to watch.
Dimozantos said this year's festival had definitely been much bigger than previous ones in terms of what events they have had going on and the numbers of people who had come through.
"I would say we've been really happy with how it's panned out."
One of the many events on this weekend is the Cycle Chic Film Tour on today, 7pm to 9.30pm, at the Blue Baths.
Film curator Brett Cotter said it was a collection of short cycling films to inspire, encourage and celebrate women who love to bike.
He said the films showed people pushing boundaries, being advocates for change, and using the bike as a vehicle to be empowering and get out there and do things.
"People are blown away by the quality of the films and the messages."
He said it was for all riders and genders, and people did not have to be cyclists to enjoy the films.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $16 for under 17s. They can be bought at the Blue Baths on the night.
One of the events on Sunday to draw the festival to a close is the Carpark Eliminator.
It is being held from 2.30pm to 9pm, at Pukuatua St carpark building. It costs $5 for adults to take part.
It involves a short two-at-a-time race from the bottom of the Pukuatua carpark building to the top.
