Rotorua and Taupo voted in top 10 dream bucket list experiences

Visiting Rotorua's geothermal attractions has ranked in the Top 10 dream bucket list experiences in New Zealand by an Australian travel company.

Voted for from a nominated list of 100 experiences, the month-long consumer poll, created by travel and experience company Experience Oz + NZ, received over 18,000 votes.

Visiting Rotorua's geothermal attractions came in at number seven.

Jet boating at Taupo's Huka Falls came in at number 5 on the list.

The poll was part of a campaign to highlight the best experiences in New Zealand to
Australians,

Experience Oz + NZ worked with local New Zealand tourism bodies and tour operators to create the comprehensive Ultimate New Zealand Bucket List.

Experience Oz + NZ Marketing Manager Matt Hobbs said New Zealand had plenty to appeal to Australians potentially looking for an overseas trip.

"New Zealand just has so many unique and altogether different experiences that
people can't do in Australia, and given it's just a short flight away we wanted to
encourage Aussies to put NZ at the top of their travel lists," he said

The top 10 list included the following experiences:
1. Swimming with dolphins in Akaroa
2. Cruising Fiordland's Sounds
3. Lord of the Rings Tours
4. Visit the Fox & Franz Josef Glaciers
5. Jet boating at Huka Falls
6. Rotorua's geothermal attractions
7. Cruising Marlborough's Sounds
8. Black Water Rafting in Waitomo Caves
9. Wine tasting in Marlborough
10.Kayaking Fiordland's fjords
