Skulander said she was so excited about the tour, she's already started packing her suitcase, a week out from the tour.
"I can't wait. I've always wanted to travel around the country and do lots of live shows, and it's finally happening," she said.
Skulander described the band's genre as solid rock with a heavy metal influence, and was blown away by the number of fans their music has attracted.
New chapter
As the former front woman of local band Slipping Tongue, which formed in 2002 and broke up in 2008, Skulander was excited about the next chapter of her music career.
"This tour is just the beginning, I have so many dreams for the future. I'd love to keep touring, perform at shows overseas, and at international music festivals alongside big names like Iron Maiden and Deftones," she said. "Winning a New Zealand Music Award would always be nice too."
In the near future, performing in Australia was on the cards, she said.
She encouraged rock fans to listen to their new album.
"It's not your typical rock album, listening to it, it's kind of like going on a rollercoaster blindfolded. There's heavy parts, and softer parts, ups and downs."
To her fans, she said she wanted to thank them for all their support over the years and remind them that nothing is out of their reach.
"I know it sounds cheesy, but dreams do come true."
The We Rise album is now available on iTunes.
