The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter transported a woman to Rotorua Hospital after she fell from a horse near Lake Rerewhakaaitu.
The helicopter was dispatched about 3.30pm yesterday to a rural property near Lake Rerewhakaaitu, 31km southeast of Rotorua.
A 52-year-old woman had fallen from a horse while competing in an organised hunt, resulting in injuries to her arm.
After an initial assessment by paramedics at the scene, the call was made to dispatch the rescue helicopter to provide additional medical care and transport her to hospital.
The woman was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital in a stable condition.
