People wishing to contact Bay of Plenty Regional Council staff today will need to pick up the phone while a technical fault affects the council's communications.
A damaged fibre cable in Whakatane means the regional council's websites www.boprc.govt.nz and www.baybus.co.nz are down. The fault has also affected all external email meaning no one within the council is receiving or able to send email.
Until the fault can be fixed, people should use the following numbers to contact staff or get bus information:
