Red Stag Timber took on about 50 others organisations in the Red Bull Trolley Grand Prix at the Auckland Domain yesterday, taking home the top prize.
The Red Stag team - made up of Paul Laing, Andy Archer, Rodney Thurlow, Dave Joy, Steve Roberts and Karl Mossong - were all "pumped" at the end of the event which saw the team walk away as overall winners.
The Red Bull Trolley Grand Prix sees home-made trolleys plummet down a steep road in the quickest time possible. The 600m course includes jumps, judder bars and a smoking tunnel. Teams are marked on their time and showmanship, having to do a skit before taking off.
Mr Laing said this was the second time the Red Stag team had entered the derby.
"We entered two years ago with a reasonably fast but ugly trolley. This year we wanted a trolley with lots of style, and faster running.
