The paper recorded an audited circulation rise of 5.4 per cent, or 423 papers, for the year ending June 30, according to latest Audit Bureau of Circulation figures published this week.
Sister paper the Bay of Plenty Times posted a 1.1 per cent rise while three other regional newspapers from the NZME media stable also posted increases.
NZME regional papers recorded an average rise of 1.6 per cent while all New Zealand regional papers registered an average 4 per cent decline.
