Chinese currency is among items stolen from a Rotorua motel.

The following incidents were reported to Rotorua police during the past few days:

A motel on Fenton St was broken into at the weekend and a large amount of foreign currency was stolen.

A police spokesmansaid Chinese currency valued at $NZ870 was stolen from the motel unit at the weekend.

Other items including bags, backpacks and passports were also stolen.

"We are very keen to hear from the public if they know of anyone with this money or if they see people hanging around these motels. If it doesn't seem right, it probably isn't right."

Hunt for jogger

Police are still looking for a man who inappropriately grabbed two women joggers on the Sulphur Point walkway bordering Lake Rotorua.

However, a polcie spokesmansaid there had not been any more complaints from members of the public since the Rotorua Daily Post stories.

He said that was probably as a result of increased patrols in the area and public awareness.

However, police had arrested a man for a separate incident for indecent exposure in Central Mall. Theman had been found to be acting inappropriately in his car while parked in the carpark.

It is not believed he is the same man involved in the Sulphur Point incidents.

Police are still asking for the public's help to find a wanted woman, believed to be in Rotorua.

Police have a warrant to arrest Nicole Mear, 29, from Tauranga who is wanted for arrest for breaching her home detention.

If anyone sees Mear or knows her whereabouts they should call Rotorua police on (07) 349 9400 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
