Rotorua police are thrilled this year's Crankworx has resulted in fewer bikes being stolen.
Area prevention manager Inspector Brendon Keenan said three bikes were stolen during Crankworx - a lot fewer than last year.
"We had the prevention team out there on Sunday and while there were still some bikes that weren't properly secured, such as with tie downs, on the whole we have had fewer bikes stolen."
Keenan said he put that down to prevention teams working in the area throughout the nine days of the annual mountain-biking competition.
"From our perspective, Crankworx was a real success given the amount of tourists and competitors in the city," Keenan said.
Police have stopped 160 drivers in the past week for various offences.
Keenan said the drivers were stopped for a range of reasons, including being given tickets, summonsed to appear in court for various reasons and given warnings.
A majority of those stopped, 85 per cent, were stopped for reasons the police called the "fatal five". These include speeding, not wearing restraints, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while distracted and dangerous or careless driving.
Meanwhile, overall 46 fewer general offences were reported in Rotorua during the past week, a reduction of 25 per cent in reported crime.
They included seven crashes, 20 vehicle complaints and just under 60 family violence offences, which is slightly fewer than the average.
16 burglaries in Rotorua
There were 16 reports of burglaries in the Rotorua area during the past week.
Among them was a quad bike stolen from a Hannahs Bay accommodation business in the early hours of Sunday. The bike was a red Suzuki 250.
Four youths were seen with the bike in the area.
Stolen vehicles
The following vehicles were stolen from Rotorua during the past week.

Police have been unable to find a burglar who broke into a Rotorua farm stay last weekend, despite the property's owners getting clear security footage.
The burglar was caught on security camera at the Clayton Rd home of Chris and Kerris Browne on Saturday March 17. It was the fourth time in three weeks the Brownes' property, known as Aria's Farm, had been broken into.
