Rotorua police have launched an unusual appeal, they have arrested an offender and now want to find the victim.
Around 11am on Tuesday, June 9 an elderly woman was reversing her vehicle out of a mobility parking space on Tutanekai St in the block between Eruera St and Amohau St, when she was approached by a woman in her 30s who demanded money from her.
A witness has reported that the elderly driver appeared visibly frightened and handed over money.
"As a result of the witness making contact with us we have identified and arrested the offender, but we would really like to speak to the victim who drove away and hasn't reported what happened to her," said a police spokeswoman.
The woman was driving an early 2000, silver Ford Falcon which has been described as being in good condition with a spoiler and 'honeycomb' mags.
