If you fancy a night of mystery and glamour, then mark March 28 in your diary.
Rotorua Plunket is swapping bouncing babies for masquerade masks with the major fundraising ball aimed at bringing a touch of glamour to the city, as well as raising much needed funds for a new building project.
This would see the dated and cramped Plunket rooms on Pukuata St knocked down or sold and moved off site, with a new centre built from scratch.
Organiser Louise Perese said the idea for the masquerade mystery ball came about when volunteers were going through old files at the centre and found an album full of newspaper clippings dating back to the mid 1940s.
It included invitations, photos and reports of the regular balls and dances which Plunket helped with - and proved the inspiration for the latest fundraiser.
