The Rotorua Jazz Club on a Sunday afternoon is a great place to be.
Club publicity officer John Pinfold said they have at least 280 people along for their club functions, which are held the first Sunday in every month. Unlike other clubs, they attract a lot more people than just their members who number 197. Mr Pinfold said the club was formed 'to display jazz in all its forms to people interested in jazz."
"We have all sorts of jazz from symphonic, dixie, trad, modern. You name we have it."
The club also try to have local groups performing and Mr Pinfold said in the weekend they had the 18-piece Rotorua Symphonic Band.
"We've also had the Western Heights (High School) big band and Dixie group."
