Police are investigating an incident at a Sunset Rd dairy, after a panic alarm was activated by staff.
A police northern communications spokesman said the call came at 6.10pm tonight. Two police cars are at the scene, at the Sunset Pricecutter Superette.
"It may well have been a shop robberybut I can't confirm that."
Senior Sergeant Harry Harvey said police were investigating an incident at the store.
He said one person had made off with several items. He was unable to confirm exactly what had happened, as statements were still being taken by police.
The superette has been targeted by robbers on several occasions, the most recently in January this year when members of the public chased a young man armed with a knife and held him until police arrived.
