ilovesoap.co.nz owners Sarah Bishop and James Thrupp were stunned to receive the award after only opening their shop in April.
"I have absolutely no idea how we won but we do like to treat people the way we'd like to be treated," Mr Thrupp said.
Ms Bishop said the pair got into the soap-making business after an unsuccessful search for the perfect coconut soap.
They started making soap in their garage and selling their products online but soon outgrew the garage and leased a small shop on Eruera St.
"It's really awesome, all we wanted to do was make quality hand-made soap at reasonable prices," she said.
"It's been a great start for our business."
Mrs Weston said comments received from voters about the staff were highly complimentary.
"'Bright', 'happy', 'always smiling' and 'willing to help' were just some of the comments we received.
"It doesn't surprise me they won, they are young and fresh in a brand new business, so they are excited and want to make their business grow."
Mrs Weston said more than 2500 votes were received during the promotion.
The Shed owner Reg Hennessy said winning the rugby atmosphere award vindicated the hard work his staff had put in to make the venue a success.
"We've had some excellent feedback from our visitors and by getting in some top acts and sports people, it's been an entertaining few months," he said.
Mrs Weston said The Shed were deserving winners as they had gone to a huge amount of trouble to make the venue a special place for rugby.
"Reg has invested a lot into this city and is always looking to make an event bigger and better. He is the ultimate rugby man and did a great job."
Each finalist in the service award section received a $200 restaurant voucher from either Brew in Eat Streat, Abracadabra in Amohia St, The Fat Dog in Arawa St, Ambrosia in Eat Streat or Mac's Steak House in Eat Streat.
