Ngongotaha roundabout crash: Man remains in serious condition

A man remains in a serious condition in Rotorua Hospital following a four-car crash over the weekend.

The man was seriously injured after his car rolled near the Ngongotaha roundabout about 4.20pm on Saturday.

Rotorua police Senior Sergeant Dennis Murphy said the car was heading north towards Ngongotaha.

Three other vehicles were caught up in the incident as they came off the roundabout towards town.

"There was heavy damage to all the vehicles," Mr Murphy said.

Mr Murphy said nobody else was injured although it caused "massive disruption" to traffic.

The man has been charged with careless driving.
