With more than 30 years of service Jennifer Anne McKinlay Vanstone is valued member of Te Puke community.
She has been recognised with a Queen's Service Medal for services to the community as part of this year's New Year's Honours.
Mrs Vanstone has been the Te Puke Daffodil Day area co-ordinator since the fundraiser began in the Bay of Plenty in 1991.
She laughs that she was caught at a "weak moment" when a doctor's wife approached her to take on the role over two decades ago.
The role sees her organise volunteers, co-ordinate with the Cancer Society and contact local businesses for support.
