Rotorua motorists are being urged to take care at a central city intersection this weekend.
Traffic at the Fenton and Amohau St intersection will be controlled by a temporary traffic roundabout on Sunday, rather than the usual traffic lights.
The traffic signals will be turned off while they are switched over to a new operating system following the installation of upgraded cabling.
Rotorua District Council said the work was being done on a Sunday to minimise disruption to motorists, and the lights would be operational again as soon as switch-over work was completed.
The council is urging people to avoid the intersection on Sunday or to take extra care and patience if they drive through that area.
