The old cliche of one man's junk being another's treasure rang true for car enthusiasts at the annual Central North Island Swap Meet and Car Show Spectacular.
Event co-ordinator Phil Menzies said there were plenty of people walking out the gate with bits and pieces following yesterday's swap meet, which attracted more than 5000 people.
Car enthusiasts flocked to Paradise Valley Raceway for the annual event, with people from as far away as Christchurch heading along to see what treasures they could find. Mr Menzies said the event was a good day for both buyers and sellers. "Everyone left with happy faces."
The event included more than 200 stalls selling a range of items as well as 180 vehicles on display including hot rods, motorcycles and classic cars.
Mr Menzies said many people attended the event annually and it was a great chance to catch up with people they might only see once a year. "It's the same as any event, there's the annual friends you see each year."
