"The racing was eventually cancelled not long after my second race because the number of injuries had the medics flat-out.
"As for myself, I went a bit better than I expected for my first outing. I was happy with how my riding was after having not raced 25-minute races for so long. My team were happy with my effort and so was I, to be fair. I stayed upright all weekend so I was happy.
"My injured wrist is not too bad now. I landed in a hole funny on the second to last lap in race one, which upset it a little, but nothing major.
"Since the classes were mixed, with MX1 and MX2 on the track together, I was racing alongside Kristian Whatley, Elliot Banks-Browne, Martin Barr, Steven Clarke and Bryan Mackenzie, to name a few, but the MX2 class was scored separately."
Lamont finished behind former GP rider Mackenzie, Clarke and Lewis Trickett in the MX2 class. His next big event is the British MX Nationals at Hawkstone Park, in Shropshire this weekend.
"I just want to thank all my supporters back home and a huge thanks to Phil and Cheryl from WIL Sport, Andy at BikesportNZ.com, JCR Motorsport New Zealand and Dr Trim.
"Also thanks to the MX Zone team in the UK and the team sponsors. I'm looking forward to the next events I have coming up," said Lamont.
One of the biggest events on the world calendar is also in Lamont's sights.
